Lödige LHC 30 laboratory coater

Description

Self-contained, mobile laboratory and development coater built by Gebrüder Lödige Maschinenbau GmbH (Paderborn, Germany) in 2004. Designed for film coating, sugar coating (dragée), seal and colour coating, polishing and powder layering of tablets, pellets and small cores — suitable for formulation development, scale-up trials and small production batches in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and confectionery applications.

The machine is supplied with two interchangeable perforated drums, giving a working capacity of approximately 1 litre and 2.5 litres of tablets, so both very small development batches and larger trial runs can be run on the same unit. The coating liquid is delivered by the original Verderlab peristaltic pump through a spray arm with a nozzle inside the drum, and kept homogeneous — and, if required, temperature controlled — by an IKAMAG RET magnetic stirrer hotplate.

Operation is recipe based from a Siemens SIMATIC Multi Panel touch terminal, with a SIMATIC S7 PLC in the integrated control cabinet. Spray, mix and dry times and cycle counts are freely adjustable, and process parameters are logged through the Lödige ProTool application. The air handling, drum drive, spraying and process air sections are all controlled from the panel, with FESTO pneumatic components. An RS-232 printer/PC interface and a main switch are fitted on the machine.

Hygienic stainless steel construction throughout, fully enclosed, with the electrical and pneumatic bay integrated into the base and lockable castors for mobility. Used, in good condition, from a Hungarian pharmaceutical manufacturer; the original Lödige documentation CDs are included. Available for inspection by appointment, sold ex works in the condition inspected.
