Bausch+Ströbel FAU 8000 / DHT 2550 / AFV 5090 ampoule filling line

Description

Complete ampoule filling line built by Bausch+Ströbel Maschinenfabrik Ilshofen in 2011, comprising the FAU 8000 ampoule washing machine (machine no. 54695), the DHT 2550 depyrogenisation tunnel (no. 55111) and the AFV 5090 ampoule filling and sealing machine (no. 55392). The three machines were built and installed as one line and are offered together.

The line runs 1 and 2 ml open-funnel ampoules and 5 and 10 ml cut-stem ampoules to DIN EN ISO 9187-1; the format last configured was the 10 ml ampoule at Ø 17.75 × 102.00 mm. Washer and filler accept ampoules from Ø 9.5 to 24 mm and from 35 to 140 mm high, so further sizes can be added with new format parts. Design output, set by the filler, is 24,000 ampoules/h at 1 ml, 18,000/h at 2 and 5 ml and 12,000/h at 10 ml.

The FAU 8000 is a rotary washer: an ultrasonic bath followed by six spray stations using finely filtered compressed air, recirculated water and WFI, with sterilising-grade filtration on the air and a UST recycling station for the wash water. A sensor at the discharge checks the ampoules for residual water. The DHT 2550 hot-air tunnel has pre-heating, depyrogenation and cooling zones on a 500 mm stainless-steel mesh belt. It is designed for 1.5 minutes at a minimum of 280 °C at the container (max. 350 °C), with laminar-flow units to ISO 14644, DEHS test ports on every zone and broken-glass drawers along the whole belt.

The AFV 5090 fills and seals at eight positions on an intermittent transport. It doses with eight valveless rotary piston pumps (four double-head peristaltic pumps are the alternative) from a 6-litre jacketed dosing vessel with level control, gasses with nitrogen before and after filling, and has an IPC station for automatic dose correction. The sealing station pre-heats and fuses the stems with oxygen and fuel-gas burners while the ampoules rotate. Product-contact parts are 316L, electropolished to Ra ≤ 0.5 µm, and the product path is designed for CIP/SIP. Good ampoules go to a double tray loader, rejects and IPC samples to a separate discharge.

All three machines run on Siemens S7 PLCs — S7-400 with Jetter motion control on the filler, S7-300 on the washer and the tunnel — with Siemens MP377T touch panels and a separate stainless-steel IP54 switch cabinet for each machine. Operation is recipe based, with a fault list and good/reject counters on the filler; the working areas are under polycarbonate guarding, and the glove ports are protected by SICK C4000 light curtains.

Format change parts, star wheels and format tooling for the running sizes are included, together with a stock of spare parts and the original Bausch+Ströbel documentation for each machine: functional specifications, wiring diagrams, P&IDs with instrument lists, operating instructions and spare parts catalogues.

Used, complete and in good condition, with no visible corrosion. The line is currently being dismantled for storage, so format parts and tooling are packed separately from the machines. Available for inspection by appointment, sold ex works in the condition inspected.
